Team

We consist of a small but powerful team. My twin daughters and I do all the work. They can't really work a pencil just yet (or a brush) but they are best in providing all the inspiration I need. Also they make sure I get up very early in the morning and get to work.

Having been trained in the art schools and having completed two professional degrees in architecture I concluded that art, portraiture in particular is my total passion. I am afraid that any minute spend away from my easel, my daughters and designing architectural space is a minute irreversibly lost -- I wish to spend the rest of my life chasing the ephemeral -- trying to capture human soul and character of space.

Artist Statement

Total beauty is contained within immediate presence of things. My artist's task is simple -- I am to be a lens that focuses the light of awesome beauty of this world upon my canvas. The role of my talent and skill is simple -- to fix this projected beauty to the surface of my board for you to enjoy. Your face, my face, her face, our bodies -- all is divine in its harmonious order. Grace that permeates the world around me, around you, around all of us is overwhelming -- the only thing I can think of all day long is How Can I Posses It All how can I pin it all to my canvas?

It revealed to me, through the years of training, searching, and wondering, that realism provides the best way to posses and share the total beauty of the living world. I search for the wonderful, using my skill and talent I capture the wonderful, and I share with others who like to see.

Old masters techniques are to be revered. The artists I quote in my working afforded the time to think and discover the most efficient ways to capture the ephemeral and ineffable -- the character and human soul. Rembrandt, Titan and Vermeer bestow particular inspiration upon my work. In twenty-first century one can't afford enough time to reinvent the traditional ways. Also I embrace the contemporary with its zeal and its search for wonder. I wonder. I wonder about the nature of things, about how world came into being, I wonder about people who will pick up the brush after me. I wonder about human character. So after all, I like to reinvent some tradition. I like to create small revolutions.
